GCSE Artwork

GCSE Fine Art

Since starting my teaching career back in 2003 I have enjoyed being able to work with students, supporting their progression as individual artists. Seeing students flourish as confident, independent young artists with their own views, strengths and ideas is a total privilege of the job. I have always seen it as my role to ensure that students leave my care with an understanding of the art around them and within them.

Identity, You and me and Crushed.

Just 3 of the themes that have seen GCSE students explore themselves and portraiture!

A favourite of mine I never fail to be amazed by students' creativity, individuality and skill!

Environment

Growing up the world around you is exciting, distressing, beautiful and so much more.

It is thrilling to see how students respond to Architecture and landscape.

Textiles and 3D outcomes

Even with the same inspirational starting points I am delighted to see students take a personal approach and develop pieces that take a very different direction.

Food

Students are often drawn to exploring food and their personal relationship with it.

I am always surprised by their different interpretations.

Sketchbook pages

An essential element of both the personal portfolio and externally set assignment are the preparations, to ensure students are meeting all of the assessment objectives. It is a pleasure to see how much pride and pleasure students take in presenting their skilled hard work.
